Matt Williams | President & Chairman of the Board
Matt is responsible for the overall management of the bank. He began his career in banking in 1973 and is the fourth generation of his family to serve in this capacity. Matt was one of 14 bankers from across our country on the FDIC Advisory Committee on Community Banking. He has been very involved with economic development in Gothenburg and Dawson County formerly serving as Chairman of the Gothenburg Improvement Company and President of the Gothenburg Area Chamber of Commerce. Matt was chairman of the American Bankers Association 2012-2013 and Nebraska Bankers Association in 2003-2004. Matt also serves as a Trustee of the University of Nebraska Foundation, UNL Ag Builders, the University of Nebraska President’s Advisory Council, the University of Nebraska Finance Department Advisory Board, and is a past Director of the State Chamber of Commerce. He has also been appointed by the University of Nebraska Board of Regents to the Board of Directors of Innovation Campus. He received his undergraduate and Law degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Matt and his wife have two children and five grandchildren.
Kristi Edson | Vice President Operations
Kristi oversees the operational functions of the bank. She is a graduate of the Kansas/Nebraska School of Banking-Operations and has worked at GSB since 1976. She is on the Gothenburg United Fund Board of Directors and Secretary of the Gothenburg Senior Center Board. Kristi enjoys reading and spending time with family. She is married with two daughters and two granddaughters.
Marcy Slack | Retail Banking Officer
Marcy is a Retail Banking Officer at the bank. She oversees our Online/Mobile Banking and Bill Payment products. She has been with the bank since 1981. She is a church board member as well as Sun Theatre volunteer. Marcy loves being outside, Husker sports and Nascar, as well as spending time with family and friends. She is married with two grown children.
Ruthie Franzen | Executive Secretary
Ruthie is administrative assistant to the President & Board of Directors and also oversees Human Resources & Employee Benefits for the bank. She began working at GSB in 1985. She served on the Gothenburg Board of Education for 8 years. She has also served as president of the Gothenburg Chamber of Commerce and the board of directors. She is currently a Chamber Ambassador. She enjoys outdoor activities such as golfing, walking and biking. She has three sons and three grandchildren.
Jennifer Ballmer | Operations Officer
Jennifer manages the day-to-day operations in the bookkeeping area of the bank as well as IT. She attended college at UNL and Kearney State College and has been with the bank since 1990. She is an active PEO member and is active in the Gothenburg Chamber of Commerce. She enjoys reading, scrapbooking, creating stained glass and spending time with family. She is married and has twins in college.
Monty Schriver | Compliance & Loan Officer, Board of Directors
Monty is Compliance Officer at the bank. Monty also handles reponsibility in the lending area. He joined the bank in 1990. He serves on the Gothenburg State Board of Directors, Gothenburg Rotary and Gothenburg Planning and Zoning. Monty is married with two children.
Janis Neujahr | Drive Thru Teller
Jan works as a teller at the bank. She has a BS in Education from Peru State College. She joined the bank in 1991. She likes to collect coins, attend garage sales, and spend time with her dog Lucie. She is married with two children and one grandchild.
Joe Libal | Loan Officer
Joe is a loan officer at bank. His primary focus is agricultural and commercial loans and he has a BS degree in Agribusiness and Finance from UNL. Joe joined the bank in 2014. He is married and enjoys shooting, hunting, fishing, and traveling with his wife Alexa.
Heather Clement | Front Teller
Heather works as a teller at the bank. She joined the bank in 1998. She is a volunteer at the Sun Theatre, past Secretary of the Gothenburg Jaycees, and a member of the American Lutheran Church. In her spare time she enjoys enjoys walking, fishing, boating, watching footballand basketball, and spending time with friends and family. She has 2 children.
Luke Rickertsen | Vice President & Board of Directors
Luke's primary focus is agricultural lending; however he takes great pride in assisting all customers with their lending needs. He joined the bank in 1999 when he chose to return to Gothenburg. He is active in the First Presbyterian Church serving on the governing board and teaching Junior/Senior High Sunday School. He is on the Gothenburg Improvement Company Board, Gothenburg State Bank Board of Directors, serves on the Nebraska Bankers Association Bank Pac Committee and is a previously served on the advisory board for the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado. He enjoys mountain biking, snowboarding, golfing, bow hunting, and spending time at the lake with his family. Luke received his agribusiness degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He is married and has three children.
Nathan Wyatt | Investment Officer, Financial Advisor, & Board of Directors
As Investment Officer at the bank, Nate works to design and implement customized strategies that help his clients achieve goals. He has been with the bank since 2001. He currently serves on the Gothenburg State Bank Board of Directors, Gothenburg Board of Education (Vice President), Gothenburg Public Schools Foundation (Chair), Rotary Club Foundation (Chair), Gothenburg United Funds Board, Gothenburg Improvement Company Board, DAD Advisory Board, Grand Island Diocese Estate Planning Committee, and any other activity/opportunity to improve financial literacy. Nate is a graduate of the Univiversity of Nebraska-Lincoln. He is married with four children and enjoys outdoor activities with his family.
Maureen is Client Relations Manager for the Investment Service Center. She is also a licensed life insurance agent. She joined the bank in 2002. She has been involved with the Gothenburg TeamMates program since its inception first as a mentor and now as the board president and is also on the board of Crestview Housing. Maureen has two children.
Jaimi Riley | Client Service Representative
Jaimi is a Client Service Representative in the Investment Service Center. She joined the bank in September of 2013. She is an active member of the Gothenburg Chamber Ag Committee. In her spare time she enjoys golf, softball, hiking and going for walks with her husband, Brian. She also enjoys cheering on her kids in their sports activities.
LaRae Thompson | Commercial & Ag Loan Clerk
LaRae works as a commerical and ag loan clerk in the lending area. She has an associates degree in Veterinary Technology. She worked for 22 years in veterinary medicine before coming to work at the bank in 2002. In her spare time she enjoys raising cattle and sheep as well as helping kids in 4-H and FFA. LaRae is married and has two grown daughters.
Nancy Sitorius | Branch Manager
Nancy manages the daily operations of our Brady branch. She joined the bank in 2005. She is president of the Brady Development Corporation, treasurer for Brady Softball Concessions, and a member of the Brady Community Club. Nancy is a past member of the Brady Village Board. She is married with two grown sons and two grandchildren.
Sabrina Bryant | Teller/Bookkeeper
Sabrina joined the bank in 2005. She primarily works in bookkeeping as well as working with customers in the teller area. She is a volunteer for KOA at the Shining Lights celebration as well as at the Sun Theatre. She is married with two children and enjoys doing things with her family.
Kathy Oliver | Loan Department
Kathy works in the loan department assisting with consumer mortgage loans. She joined the bank in 2006. She coaches volleyball and also volunteers at the Sun Theatre. Kathy is a supporter of the American Cancer Society as well as Juvenile Diabetes. She is a past volunteer as a March of Dimes coordinator, Destination Imagination coach, and Girl Scouts. She enjoys spending time with her family on the lake.

Roni Putnam | Receptionist
Roni is receptionist at the bank. She joined the bank team in 2013. She graduated from Southeast Community College in Beatrice, NE with a Business Administration Degree, where she played softball there for SCC Storm. Roni enjoys shopping, skiing, going to the lake, cheering on the Huskers, and going on walks with her dogs.
Bret Tiller | Assistant Vice President
Bret is Assistant Vice President in the loans area. He works in all areas of lending; however he especially enjoys working with agricultural lending where he can put his farming background to work. He graduated with a BS in agribusiness from the University of Nebraska-Kearney. He serves on the Gothenburg Housing Authority Board of Directors, the Gothenburg Chamber Board of Directions (past President), and is a Chamber Ambassador. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and golfing. He is married with two children.
Toni Terry | Teller/Bookkeeper
Toni is responsible for teller and bookkeeping functions at our Brady branch. She is active in the Brady community volunteering in many organizations. She is married with two children.
Stephanie Ricley | Loan Clerk
Stephanie works as a loan clerk working primarily with consumer loans. She joined the bank in 2008. She is a member of the Gothenburg Public Schools Stakeholder Committee, a Gothenburg Community Playhouse volunteer, and our bank's organizer of Teach Children to Save & Get Smart About Credit activities. She is married with 2 children.
Laurie Brown | Loan Documentation
Laurie is in charge of loan documentation at the bank as well as serving as a loan assistant. She serves on the Gothenburg Teammates Board of Directors, is active in the American Lutheran Church serving on the Parish Education Board and teaching Sunday School. She is also a Sun Theatre and 4-H volunteer and a past Jr. Wrestling Club Board member. Laurie enjoys spending time with her husband and children, shopping, traveling, watching football and anything related to M&Ms. She is married with three children.
Tammy Schultz | Bookkeeping
Tammy works in bookkeeping and is also a backup teller. She has worked in the banking industry for over 10 years. She is a volunteer at the Sun Theatre, loves to participate in Harvest Festival activities and is a proud supporter of Gothenburg Swede football. She enjoys spending time with family, reading, crossword puzzles, and jigsaw puzzles. She is married with three children.
Jessie McNally | Teller/Bookkeeper
Jessie works in bookkeeping and as a teller. She joined the bank in 2009. She volunteers for Meals on Wheels and KOA Shining Light Celebration. She enjoys camping, hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. She is married with three girls.
Carrie has worked at Gothenburg State Bank since 2012 and divides her time between the retail and operation sides of the bank. She is a Wayne State College graduate with a BS degree in business management and retail merchandising. Carrie enjoys reading,movies, shopping, traveling, and spending time with her husband, Don, and their four children.
Traci Golter | Teller/Bookkeeper
Traci works in bookeeping and as a teller. She joined the bank in 2009. She graduated from Mid-Plains Community College with an associate degree of Applied Science. She is married with one daughter.
Brandon oversees the bank's overall financial objectives. He graduated with an MBA from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and joined GSB in 2013. He enjoys golfing, basketball, running, hunting, fishing and most of all, spending time with family. He is married with three sons.
Pat Cordell | Loan Officer
Pat is a loan officer at the bank. His primary focus is with consumer loans. He has a Masters degree in education from Chadron State College. He is a past Chamber Ambassador and has previously served on the Gothenburg Chamber Board. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and golf. He is married and has one daughter.
Amber Burge | Marketing Director
Amber has been with the bank since 2011 and has a number of years of experience in marketing prior to joining the bank. She is a graduate of the University of Nebraska with a BS in Agribusiness and received her MBA from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She is a member of the Gothenburg School Board, Gothenburg Improvement Company Vice President, ABLE steering committee, United Fund volunteer, Gothenburg Chamber of Commerce Steering Committee, AYSO soccer coach, t-ball coach, and is a member of the United Methodist Church where she serves on various committees and teaches Sunday school. She enjoys running and spending time outside with her family. She is married with one son and one daughter.
Caroline handles consumer mortgage loans at the bank. She joined the loan team in 2011. She has a Business Administration degree with an emphasis in Accounting from Nebraska Wesleyan, and a Masters of Professional Accountancy from UNL. Caroline enjoys reading, exercising, watching sporting events, and traveling. She and her husband have two young children.
Duane Oliver | Board of Directors
Duane Oliver serves as a member of the Board of Directors at the bank. He was Senior Vice President at the bank for 37 plus years overseeing all the operation functions. While employed at the bank, Duane was involved in many service organization including the Gothenburg Public Schools Board of Education, President of the Gothenburg Chamber of Commerce,and also served on the Board of Directors of Dawson/Gosper County CASA. He served in the United States Army from January 1966 to December of 1968. He currently serves on the governing board of the Gothenburg Senior Center as well as on the Gothenburg Cemetery Board. Duane was also recently elected to the Gothenburg City Council. He has been married for 50 plus years to wife, Karen. They have three children and eight grandchildren. In his spare time, Duane likes to fish, golf,and travel.
Bob is a member of the Board of Directors since 2009. He currently practices law and lives in Omaha, Nebraska. He is a member of the firm Larson Kuper Wenninghoff, PC LLO. His areas of practice include worker’s compensation defense, criminal defense, and defense of various civil matters. Bob graduated from the University of Nebraska for undergraduate work and then from the Creighton University School of Law. He is a member of the Nebraska Bar Association, a member of the Nebraska Criminal Defense Attorney’s Association, and a member of the Omaha Barrister’s. Bob enjoys running, biking, skiing, a variety of other outdoor activities and also spending time with his wife and family.
