Jennifer Ballmer | Senior Operations Officer
Jennifer manages the day-to-day operations in the bookkeeping area of the bank. She attended college at UNL and Kearney State College and has been with the bank since 1990. She is an active PEO member and is active in the Gothenburg Chamber of Commerce. She enjoys reading, scrapbooking, creating stained glass and spending time with family. She is married and has twins.
Laurie is in charge of loan documentation at the bank as well as serving as a loan assistant. She is an active member of the American Lutheran Church. Laurie is a supporter of the American Cancer Society and is also a Sun Theatre volunteer and a past Teammates Board member. Laurie enjoys shopping,traveling, football and anything related to M & M’s. She also enjoys cheering on her kids in their sports activities. She is married with three children.
Sabrina Bryant | Teller/Bookkeeper
Sabrina joined the bank in 2005. She primarily works in bookkeeping as well as working with customers in the teller area. She is a volunteer for KOA at the Shining Lights celebration as well as at the Sun Theatre. She is married with two children and enjoys doing things with her family.
Amber has been with the bank since 2011 and has a number of years of experience in marketing prior to joining the bank. She is a graduate of the University of Nebraska with a BS in Agribusiness and received her MBA from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She is a member of the Gothenburg Improvement Company and is a member of the United Methodist Church where she serves on various committees and teaches Sunday school. She enjoys running and spending time outside with her family. She is married with one son and one daughter.
Pat is a loan officer at the bank. His primary focus is with consumer loans. He has a Masters degree in education from Chadron State College. He is a past Chamber Ambassador and has previously served on the Gothenburg Chamber Board. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and golf. He is married and has one daughter.
Julie is a teller at the bank. She joined the bank team in December of 2016. Julie enjoys spending time at the baseball field and at the lake with her husband and two boys.
Morgan Fornoff | Loan Officer
Morgan is a mortgage loan officer and has been with GSB since 2014. She received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Finance minor from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Morgan is an avid Husker fan and enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband Kyle and son Bryce. She is an active member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church.
Alec Foster | Technology Specialist
Alec joined GSB in 2016. He graduated from Gothenburg in 2012 and went on to get his degree in IT Support in 2014. He found a passion for computers in high school and likes to teach people and show them how technology works. He loves to play basketball and video games, fish, and hang out with friends.
Alexis Franzen | Teller/Bookkeeper
Alexis joined GSB in 2018. She graduated from Brady high school in 2014 and went on to get her degree in Business from Mid Plains Community College. Alexis enjoys showing cattle and doing whatever she can to support and encourage kids to participate in the industry.
Justin Hetz | Vice President Operations
Justin joined GSB in 2016 and provides leadership and supervision over the retail and operations area of the bank. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from Concordia University-Seward in 1998. He graduated from the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado in 2005. He came to GSB with almost 20 years of banking experience. Justin is married with two children. He enjoys hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
Traci works in the loan department as a Mortgage Loan Processor. She joined the bank in 2009. She graduated from Mid-Plains Community College with an associate degree of Applied Science. She is married with two daughters and one son.
Carrie has worked at Gothenburg State Bank since 2012 and works in the Investment Service Center as well as marketing at GSB as a Client & Brand Specialist. She is a Wayne State College graduate with a BS degree in business management and retail merchandising. Carrie enjoys reading, movies, traveling, and spending time with her husband, Don, and their four children.
Maureen handles Client Relations for the Investment Service Center. She is also a licensed life insurance agent. She joined the bank in 2002. Maureen serves on the board of Crestview Housing. She has two children.
Joe Libal | Loan Officer
Joe is a loan officer at the bank. His primary focus is agricultural and commercial loans and he has a BS degree in Agribusiness and Finance from UNL. Joe joined the bank in 2014. He is an EMT with the Gothenburg Volunteer Fire Department where he serves as treasurer. He is also a member of the Cozad Elks Lodge #2250 where he currently serves as Exalted Ruler. He is married and enjoys shooting, hunting, fishing, and traveling with his wife Alexa.
Jessie works in bookkeeping and as a teller. She joined the bank in 2009. She volunteers for Meals on Wheels and KOA Shining Light Celebration. She enjoys camping, hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. She is
married with three girls.
Roni is a teller at the bank. She joined the bank team in 2013. She graduated from Southeast Community College in Beatrice, NE ("SCC") with a Business Administration Degree, where she played softball there for the SCC Storm. Roni enjoys golfing, going to the lake, cheering on the Broncos and Huskers, and spending time with her family. She is married and has two boys.
Molly joined the bank team in June of 2018. She primarily works as a teller. Molly graduated from McCook High School in 2015 and went on to Mid-Plains Community College and graduated with an Associates degree in Business Administration. She worked in banking for two years prior to joining GSB. Molly is married to Cody who works on the family ranch in Brady, NE. Molly is an active member of The Crossing, Family Life Center and volunteers at the Sun Theater. She enjoys camping, reading, taking walks, playing games, swimming, and being with family.
Alaina joined the bank in 2018 and works as a teller. Alaina graduated from Lexington High School in 2013 and went to Midland University where she was on the dance team. She lives in Cozad. She has two dogs and enjoys reading, horseback riding, and being outdoors.
Ruthie is administrative assistant to the President & Board of Directors and also oversees Human Resources and Employee Benefits for the bank. She began working at GSB in 1985. She served on the Gothenburg Board of Education for 8 years. She has also served as president of the Gothenburg Chamber of Commerce and the board of directors. She is currently a Chamber Ambassador. She enjoys outdoor activities such as golfing, walking and biking. She has three sons and three grandchildren.
Erika is the receptionist at the bank. She joined the bank team in February of 2016. She enjoys fishing, camping, riding motorcycles and spending time with her two boys.
Will Rahjes | Financial Advisor
Will has been an advisor with the ISC since 2014 and thoroughly enjoys helping clients with all aspects of their financial situation. Will graduated from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln with a degree in Agribusiness. Giving back to the community is also a priority for Will, as he’s involved in the Gothenburg Rotary, Chamber Ambassadors, Teammates Mentoring Program, and the Gothenburg Housing Authority. He and his wife Jena can usually be found on the golf course, out hunting or fishing, or traveling to visit family and friends.
Stephanie Ricley | Loan Clerk
Stephanie works as a loan clerk working primarily with consumer loans. She joined the bank in 2008. She is a member of the Gothenburg Public Schools Stakeholder Committee, a Gothenburg Community Playhous e volunteer, and our bank's organizer of Teach Children to Save & Get Smart About Credit activities. She is married with 2 children.
Luke is responsible for the overall management of the bank. He joined the bank in 1999 when he chose to return to Gothenburg. He is on the Gothenburg Improvement Company Board and serves on the Nebraska Bankers Association Bank PAC Committee. Luke received his agribusiness degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and also graduated from the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado in 2005. He participated in the Nebraska Bankers association Leadership program from 2006 to 2008 and also attended the Dave Ramsey EntreLeadership seminar in Nashville, TN in 2014. When Luke is away from the bank he enjoys mountain biking, snowboarding, golfing, and spending time at the lake with his family. He is married and has three children.
Monty Schriver | Vice President Compliance & Loan Officer, Board of Directors
Monty is Compliance Officer at the bank. Monty also handles responsibilities in the lending area. He joined the bank in 1990. He serves on the Gothenburg State Board of Directors, Gothenburg Rotary and Gothenburg Evangelical Free church worship team. Monty is married with two grown children.
Ty is a loan officer at the bank primarily focusing on agricultural and commercial loans. He has a BS degree in Agribusiness from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Ty joined the bank in October of 2015. Ty serves on the Gothenburg Chamber Board of Directors and is a Teammates mentor. He also serves on the UNL CASNR Alumni Board. He enjoys hunting, attending Husker sporting events, and helping out on his family's farm.
Lois Shea | Loan Clerk
Lois is a loan clerk at the bank. She joined the bank team in April of 2016. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, swimming, walking, and spending time with her family. She is married with one son.
Shandell Shelton | Teller/Bookkeeper
Shandell joined the bank in April of 2016. She is a teller and a bookkeeper. In 2011, she graduated from Central Community College in Hastings. Shandell and her husband, Derick, enjoy camping, golf, renovating houses, and spending time with their son, Rex. They can be found on Saturdays watching the Huskers, and Sundays watching the Denver Broncos.
Nancy manages the daily operations of our Brady branch. She joined the bank in 2005. She is president of the Brady Development Corporation, treasurer for Brady Softball Concessions, and is a member of the Brady Community Club. Nancy is a past member of the Brady Village Board. She is married with two grown sons and two grandchildren.
Marcy is a Retail Banking Officer at the bank. She oversees our Online/Mobile Banking and Bill Payment products. She has been with the bank since 1981. She is a church board member as well as Sun Theatre volunteer. Marcy loves being outside, Husker sports and Nascar, as well as spending time with family and friends. She is married with two grown children.
Bret oversees the GSB loan team where he works in all areas of lending however, he especially enjoys working with Agricultural lending where he can put his farming background to work. He graduated with a BS in agribusiness from the University of Nebraska-Kearney. He serves on the Wildhorse Golf Course Board of Directors and the finance committee at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church. Bret is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking in Madison Wisconsin. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and trapping. He is married with two children.
Matt Williams | Chairman of the Board
Matt was recently elected Nebraska State Senator for District #36 and began his term in January of 2015. Matt began his career in banking in 1973 and is the fourth generation of his family to serve in this capacity. Matt was one of 14 bankers from across our country on the FDIC Advisory Committee on Community Banking. He has been very involved with economic development in Gothenburg and Dawson County, formerly serving as Chairman of the Gothenburg Improvement Company and President of the Gothenburg Area Chamber of Commerce. Matt was chairman of the American Bankers Association in 2012-2013 and Nebraska Bankers Association in 2003-2004. Matt also serves as a Trustee of the University of Nebraska Foundation, UNL Ag Builders, the University of Nebraska President’s Advisory Council, the University of Nebraska Finance Department Advisory Board, and is a past Director of the State Chamber of Commerce. He has also been appointed by the University of Nebraska Board of Regents to the Board of Directors of Innovation Campus. He received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Nebraska- Lincoln. Matt and his wife have two children and five grandchildren.
Bob is a member of the Board of Directors since 2009. He currently practices law and lives in Omaha, Nebraska. He is a member of the firm Larson Kuper Wenninghoff, PC LLO. His areas of practice include worker’s compensation defense, criminal defense, and defense of various civil matters. Bob graduated from the University of Nebraska for undergraduate work and then from the Creighton University School of Law. He is a member of the Nebraska Bar Association, a member of the Nebraska Criminal Defense Attorney’s Association, and a member of the Omaha Barrister’s. Bob enjoys running, biking, skiing, a variety of other outdoor activities and also spending time with his wife and three children.
As Investment Officer at the bank, Nate works to design and implement customized strategies that help his clients achieve goals. He has been with the bank since 2001. He currently serves on the Gothenburg State Bank Board of Directors, Gothenburg Board of Education (President), Gothenburg Public Schools Foundation (Chair), Gothenburg Improvement Company Board (President), Gothenburg Redevelopment Authority (Chair), DAD Advisory Board, and any activity/opportunity to improve financial literacy. Nate is a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He is married with four children and enjoys outdoor activities with his family.
